The Sudanese Community of Greater Omaha
The Sudanese Community of Omaha is a non-profit community organization registered in the State of Nebraska with an adopted constitution. It brings together a community whose numbers have doubled in recent years to nearly four thousand people, and works for mutual support, preserving Sudanese identity and culture, and connecting our children to their heritage.
Our mission
Bringing the Sudanese of Omaha together and serving them socially and culturally: visiting the sick, caring for the elderly, welcoming newcomers, and celebrating national and religious occasions.
The Sudanese Center project
The community owns a plot of land and plans to build a full Sudanese center on it: an events hall, classrooms and activity rooms, and commercial units that provide sustainable income for the community.
General Assembly
Made up of all registered members, families and individuals. It elects the executive office and approves the logo and the constitution. The community's doors are open to everyone who wishes to join.
